Templemore Library

A rejuvenated building to serve the Community through Library, Incubation facilities and Cultural events.

The Templemore Cultural & Enterprise Centre is a landmark project that revitalizes a significant piece of heritage while blending historical preservation with modern innovation. This project involved the transformation of the existing two-storey Protected Structure, formerly the Townhall, into a vibrant hub for the community.
The ground floor now houses a Library and Community Room, while the first floor features a Multifunctional Area. This modern space includes Enterprise Rooms, a 3D Lab, and Collaboration spaces, designed to accommodate meetings, lectures, and other events requiring flexible and quickly convertible areas.

A key highlight of the project is the modern glazed front extension to the Library, providing comfortable reading areas for both adults and children. Additionally, the existing Civic Space around the building has been upgraded to enhance the overall environment.
The grand opening was officiated by Heather Humphreys, Minister for Rural and Community Development, and attended by Councillor Declan Burgess of Tipperary County Council and Councillor Michael Smith of Thurles Municipal District, underscoring the project’s importance to the community.
This project was a collaborative effort, with contributions from CuddyQS (QS), MWP (M&E engineers), PHM Consulting (civil and structural engineers), and Leetherm (main contractor). Designed by eml Architects, the Templemore Cultural & Enterprise Centre stands as a testament to the rejuvenation of town centres and the seamless integration of historical and contemporary design.
